Spider guard use sleeve grips and the feet in the biceps to dominate control of the opponent's upper body. With the upper body control, the spider guard player uses the position to off-balance the opponent and set up a variety of submissions and sweeps. In this course, we cover the core concepts of this gi-based guard.
