Tourism in Morocco
Since tourism activity began to take its contemporary form, pioneers have discovered distinct spaces for practicing mountain tourism.
The small city of Azilal (east of Marrakesh) is considered a city of activity. In winter, the Atlas Mountains are the center of tourist attraction thanks to the snow that surrounds their peaks. Morocco has important areas for skiing and snowboarding of various types, whether in “Oukimden” on the outskirts of Marrakesh, or in “Micheliven” the cities of Azrou-Ifrane and its environs, and both areas have sports and tourist equipment. In the summer, it is the turn of mountaineering enthusiasts, which are particularly active in the suburbs of Marrakesh, or caravans crossing the High Atlas from Azilal on the northern slopes to Skoura, M'Gouna or Tinghir on the southern slopes. Those who are fond of visiting deep caves, especially those located on the outskirts of the cities of Agadir in the south and Taza in the northeast, also arrive.
