What is Gabapentin?
 

Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant or anti-epileptic drug that is used to treat seizure disorders. It helps to lower the abnormal and uncontrolled excitement in the brain. Muscle stiffness and difficulty in speech due to seizure can also be minimized using Gabapentin. The anti-spasmodic property of Gabapentin helps relax the muscles and treats body pain.

Gabapentin is traded under various brand names such as Gabapin, Gabasign, Neurontin, etc. Patients are advised 300mg dose daily in the initial stage, which can further be increased to 3600mg per day.
