This is a MAJOR topic that is often neglected by students of Islam. Please do NOT underestimate the importance of how to approach the inheritance of Rasulullah ﷺ, which is knowledge. Learning Islam is based on it's own epistemology. In it's entirety, it is more demanding than going to a university and earning a degree in a specific field of endeavor. In this very important course we will highlight some of the existing misconceptions related to learning in Islam, traps that students commonly and unwittingly fall into, the spiritual imperatives, the vital role of etiquette, as well as why the proper approach is so important to the healthy development and maturation of the cognitive framework of any Muslim mind.Islam is sophisticated, intricate, and extensive. It is only with the proper approach that any Muslim student will be able to see, experience, and appreciate the true beauty of Islam. Approaching education in Islam without these necessary underpinnings can lead to disastrous results, including potentially losing one's Islam. This seeks to provide students with the necessary guardrails and initial educational concepts necessary in order to optimize their learning experience. It is important for students to remember that our educational system historically predates Western academia, and includes the necessary components to address both the internal and external existence and success of the human being, in this life as well as the next. We have a rich intellectual history that has had keen minds, which were more adept than yours and mine, scrutinize and clarify our deen over centuries. Basically, the hard part has already been done for us. The only remaining step is to not corrupt the process with our own deficiencies and speculation.
