Best Strategy for Hill Climb Online Time Trial Mode?

Does anyone have a go-to strategy for hill climb online time trial races? I’ve been trying to improve my times but can’t seem to shave off those extra seconds.

I’m wondering if it’s more about mastering jumps or choosing the right vehicle setup. Do upgrades significantly affect time trial performance, or is it mostly about clean driving lines?
