How do you layer vocals cleanly without losing clarity in the mix?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a few vocal-heavy tracks lately and keep running into the same issue — when I layer multiple takes or harmonies, the vocals start sounding muddy and lose their clarity. I’ve tried EQ and some light compression, but it still feels crowded, especially in the mids. Do you have any tips or techniques for keeping stacked vocals sounding clean and defined? Maybe something about panning, reverb, or specific EQ ranges to focus on? I’d love to hear what’s worked for you! google baseball |
One thing that really helped me was subtle panning and using slightly different EQ cuts on each layer so they’re not fighting the same space, plus keeping reverb mostly on a send. Small moves add up. Also, random side note, I found a cool break-game recently at https://apkvenom.com.pk/88ef-game/ that’s oddly relaxing between mix sessions.
