1. Build a Balanced Character
Your build should balance strong area-of-effect damage with solid defenses. High damage output is critical to clear waves quickly, while survivability-especially evasion-is vital to avoid being overwhelmed. Life regeneration, leech, or energy shield layers help sustain through prolonged fights. Builds with excellent crowd control and mobility skills like Flame Dash or Dash improve positioning and survival.
2. Optimize Gear and Flasks
Equip gear that boosts damage and survivability, focusing on resistances and life or energy shield. Flasks that remove ailments such as bleed, freeze, and curses are crucial. Carry Omens of Resurgence-special consumables that restore life and energy shield during waves-to help survive burst damage phases. Keep your flasks upgraded and ready for quick use.
3. Understand the Wave and Boss Mechanics
The Simulacrum has 15 waves, each increasing in difficulty, with modifiers that enhance monster damage, speed, and resistances. Two bosses-Kosis, the Revelation and Omniphobia, Fear Manifest-appear intermittently, sometimes simultaneously. Prioritize killing Kosis first when both are present, as his abilities restrict battlefield control. Learn their attack patterns to dodge effectively.
4. Manage Inventory and Resources
Between waves, use the stash to organize loot and refill flasks. Clear your inventory regularly to avoid being overwhelmed by drops. Always pick up valuable loot before starting the next wave, as items disappear once the wave begins.
5. Stay Mobile and Adapt
The arenas shrink and become more cramped as waves progress, so constant movement is necessary to avoid being cornered. Adapt your positioning based on the arena layout and enemy behavior. Avoid standing still, especially near bosses or large monster packs.
6. Monitor Modifiers and Adjust Strategy
Each wave introduces modifiers that can drastically affect difficulty. Pay attention to these and adjust your tactics accordingly-for example, increasing caution if monsters penetrate resistances or deal elemental damage.
By preparing your build for both offense and defense, optimizing gear and consumables, understanding boss mechanics, and maintaining mobility and resource management, you can tackle the
Simulacrum’s escalating challenges effectively.
