Last weekend, I was helping my little sister with her language practice. She’s at that stage where she’s starting to build her vocabulary, and I wanted to find some fun ways to make it easier for her. One thing we tried was going through lists of simple three-letter words. I found a really useful resource called
100+ Teen Akshar Wale Shabd Ki Soochi which had plenty of words that she could learn quickly. These words were perfect because they weren’t too long or complicated, and she could use them in small sentences. Learning three-letter words helps build confidence in reading and speaking.
To make it even more interesting, I paired this with something she loves — fruits. We made a
list of 50 Fruit Names in English and Hindi and tried to say the names aloud together. It was fun to see how many fruit names she already knew, and she was excited to learn new ones. Using fruits as a learning tool made the whole process feel like a game rather than a lesson. Plus, fruits are everywhere, so she could practice by pointing out fruits at home or in the market.
Mixing language learning with everyday things like fruits and short words made a big difference. It kept her interested and made learning feel natural. I think using things that kids see and interact with daily is one of the best ways to teach them new vocabulary. By the end of our session, she was already trying to form small sentences using the new three-letter words and naming fruits confidently in both languages.
It’s amazing how simple resources and a bit of creativity can make learning fun and effective. I’m looking forward to finding more lists and ways to help her grow her vocabulary with easy and familiar words.
