This Byte shows you how engineers are starting to use AI inside real workflows by using Claude Code. You'll learn how to set it up, secure it, control it, and make it useful in practical environments instead of treating it like a toy.
We start with the foundations: what Claude Code is, when to use self-hosted, cloud, or hybrid setups, and how to run it safely on a Linux VPS. Then we move into the day-to-day workflows that matter-project structure, CLAUDE.md, skills, sessions, isolation, shell commands, automation, slash commands, and Plan Mode.
Then you will put it all to work. You will build and deploy a developer portfolio with Astro, Tailwind, nginx, DNS, BIND 9, and HTTPS. By the end, you will know how to use Claude Code as a real operational tool in modern engineering work.
