How does DNS name domains?
Names in the Domain Name System are divided into several parts, each part representing a level in a hierarchical structure, arranged from right to left, which are:
Root Domain: It represents the highest level in the hierarchical structure and is indicated by a dot (.) at the far right of the domain name, which is usually dropped from domain names.
Top-Level Domains: This level is represented by two- or three-letter abbreviations that express the type of organization, country, or anything else.
Top Level Domains can contain Second Level Domains, as well as users.
Second Level Domains: This level can contain users, and other domains called sub domains.
Host Names: Host names refer to computers on the Internet or in a private network, and the host names are always on the far left side of the name.
